lvl 35 runecrafting, lvl 42 mining

1) Talk to Rat Burgiss, he can be located at the Crossroads between Varrock and Lumbridge. He will tell you that he was attacked and that he needs you to get 5 pieces of very important paperwork back from the outlaws. You will be given a folder to keep them in. Now head back to Varrock and go in Varrock castle, then head west to the tunnel shortcut. Once you have used the shortcut, proceed to the outlaw camp.

2) Once at the outlaw base kill five lvl 32 outlaws to retrieve the stolen pages. When you get the pages use them on the folder. Next go back to Rat and give him the papers. He will then ask you to deliver a letter to Surok Magis in the Varrock Library. So head to the Varrock Library.

3) Once in the Library speak to Surok Magis, he will tell you that he can make gold out of clay but he will need to things from you; a ordinary bowl and a wand infused with chaos.

4) Surok Mages will give you a diary and a wand. Read the diary and leave Varrock out its east exit and the head north to the statue of saradomin. Speak to Anna Jones and she will give you a bronze pickaxe. Leave the statue to discover a tunnel, enter it. Follow the tunnel until you come to a portal. Enter the portal and you will be in the second level of the chaos maze, then climb down the nearby ladder to reach the chaos altar. Use your wand on the altar and it should start to glow.

5) When you have done that return to Varrock library and talk to Surok. he will give you a letter and ask you to give it to Rat Burgiss. So go back to Rat and give him the letter, he will tell you that Surok is actually the leader of the Varrock Palace's secret police and that he is planning on taking over the kingdom by casting a mind control spell on King Rolad. Rat will then ask you to talk to Zaff who is the owner of the Varrock Staff shop as he needs him to make a spell to counteract Surok.

6) Go and talk to Zaff his staff shop is in Varrock Village square. He will tell you the plan and will give you a beacon ring and instructions on how to arrest Surok. Prepare to fight and when you are ready go to Surok in Varrock Library and attempt to arrest him. Surok will then cast his spell on King Rolad and you will have to fight him, lvl 47. Get his hitpoints down to zero and then use the beacon on him. Zaff will arrive and save king rolad. he will the tell you to talk to Rat. Return to Rat to finish the quest.
